Parry: Walz Wrong to Block Balanced Budget Amendment
Waseca, Minn. - Mike Parry, candidate for Congress, released the following statement after Washington Democrats, including Congressman Tim Walz, blocked the passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:
"With our national debt eclipsing $15 trillion, there is no excuse for Washington politicians to be taking the Balanced Budged Amendment off the table," said Mike Parry, candidate for Congress. "As a strong supporter of the Balanced Budget Amendment, I'm extremely disappointed that Congressman Walz would reject such a common-sense proposal to curtail Washington's spending sprees. With votes like this, Congressman Walz proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is part of the problem in Washington."
This is the second time this year that Congressman Walz has aligned himself with Washington's big spenders by rejecting a Balanced Budget Amendment. In July, Walz was one of 181 Democrats to vote against the "Cut, Cap and Balance" plan.
